Scan Templates
When you start a new scan, you pick a template from the gallery. Each template pre-configures the scan type and, for vulnerability scans, which check categories are included or excluded by default — you can still adjust any of it on the Checks and Advanced tabs before submitting.
Templates are grouped by purpose:
Vulnerability Detection

| Web Application Scan | Dynamic application security testing for web targets. | All categories (scoped to the HTTP protocol). |
| CVE Scan | Known CVE detection across common protocols. | Known CVEs only. |
| KEV | Detects vulnerabilities listed in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. | CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) only. |
| Default Logins | Detects default or weak vendor credentials on login panels. | Default Credentials only. |
| Misconfigurations | Exposed panels, misconfigurations and exposure checks. | Misconfiguration, Exposed Admin Panels, Information Exposure. |
| Advanced Scan | Start with no checks selected and choose exactly what to run. | None — pick categories/checks manually on the Checks tab. |
Reconnaissance

| Host Discovery | Discovers live hosts and open ports across a network range. | N/A — this is a discovery scan, not a vulnerability scan, so it has no check categories. It runs against the top 1000 ports with open-port verification and banner grabbing enabled; see Advanced Settings. |
| Subdomain Takeovers | Detects DNS entries pointing to deprovisioned or unclaimed cloud resources. | Subdomain Takeover only. |
Network & Infra

Every template starting point can be refined further — uncheck a category, expand it to deselect individual checks, or switch to include mode and build the check list from scratch. See Advanced Settings for the full set of options.
